Nowadays, its so difficult to get a good ticket at a reasonable price for anything. In particular, concert tickets. Unless you have some sort of hook-up, it is next to impossible to get the best tickets at the price that they are actually worth. With sites like ticketmaster.com, it is not unlikely to find that seconds after tickets go on sale, they are sold out to scalpers that make the prices ridiculously high. Having the ability to dee your favorite bands live should be a privilege that everyone can take advantage of, not one that depends on the amount someone is willing or able to spend on it. Even if you don't have to buy the tickets from scalpers, Ticketmaster still tacks on added fees that can make the ticket more than double its price. One of my friends is OBSESSED with Gym Class Heroes and when they came on tour, she really wanted to see them. However, she wasn't able to because the tickets were too expensive. She was a fan of them before I even knew they existed. Its not fair that ones ability to go to a concert depends on their financial status. I think that a wide part of the market of people that buy these tickets are teenagers and they don't have the kind of money that they want them to spend on show tickets. It doesn't make sense to expect them to have to, either. Now, it doesn't matter how much you love a band. You can listen to them everyday and know every word to every song they have ever recorded, but that doesn't mean anything. If you can't pay, you can't see them live and it really sucks.
